linux obviously, red hat something, bash shell

user1 has sudo capability, user2 has all the same groups and entries in sudoers as user1 yet user2 doesnt have access to sudo

i have the root password but i hate being logged on as root

is there a user db config file that i need to run? (analogous to ldconfig for programs)

durr of course i edited sudoers with visudo and added user2 to the list of allowed users

that is the problem user1 and user2 are in the same groups and both are in sudoers and user2 cant use sudo while user1 can

if you've properly updated sudoers and everything, then there's probably a typo somewhere, i'd guess.

so you have an entry for user1 and user2 in /etc/sudoers? or you have an entry for user1's group in there?
