duke/unc was/still is one of the biggest rivalries in the nation.

its one of those "you gotta pick one and stick with it" type things.

im a NCSU and duke fan.

i like the terps too. i wouldnt call myself a fan. but ill root for them if they arent playing a team i like.

its like being a fan of backstreet boys and nsync. just not physically possible.

See, we're missing something here. Duke, UNC, and State are EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS. It pisses me off when people claim to hate another EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION over a stupid sports team rivalry. We've got three really great schools in close distance to each other that should be collaborating more to learn from each other, but most of the students at all three let the actions of the tiny minority of the students who play sports control their feelings about other schools. Leave that kind of shit to the people who play the sports, the rest of us shouldn't care, because we have no part in what happens at a football or basketball game. Let the rest of us appreciate the wealth of knowledge that is within a short driving distance.

Look, the RTP is there for a reason. But dammit, this is North Carolina. Of course we care about our sport teams. There are few other overt representations of schools outside of a team, so yes, we want our team and thus, school to look good. But at the end of the day, we'll go back to working together.

It's like the different services of the military. We talk shit about each other, but god damn can we do the job when it comes time to do it.

I've got two friends who pull this shit, one goes to unc and has never even lived in durham before or had anything to do with duke
