there are porcshe's that perform, but just owning a porsche isn't anything special. Not every porsche is some crazy exotic car.

Problem is, the R8 both outlooks and outperforms any Porsche on the road except for the Carrera GT and GT3 RS, and it costs less than half as much.

^ There is no way in hell the R8 will outperform the following, whether in straight line, or on a circuit:

911 GT3 (and GT3 RS)
911 Turbo
911 GT2

And it costs about the same as the GT3 /RS and the Turbo.

As far as looks go, the R8 is one of the most beautiful modern supercars, if not the most. Way better than any Porsche, and almost every Ferrari and Lambo.

The base price of the R8 in the US is $109,000, the base of the GT3 is $106,000.

There are a few inequalities, as the GT3 is RWD and the R8 is AWD, but the price point remains.

The GT3 is almost as good as the GT3RS and costs a bit less so I used it instead.

It might have different looks, but it hardly outperforms any of the higher level porsche's.

The Carrera 4S will keep up with it on a track no problem, even with a horsepower disadvantage. It might require a finer hand, but that's neither here nor there.
