what the fuck? this is a stupid thread what else would it show. and I don't think it reflects much on the athletic department at the moment, not their fault there is no team chemistry. The volleyball team is more a reflection on the athletic department then this basketball season. Now if this trend continues then it could become a reflection on the athletic department.

and for the fans, we'll continue with what has become the new nc state athletic moto:

"Just wait until NEXT (fill in basketball or football) season"

Eight losses in a row seems like one of those things that our fanbase would be disinclined to forget/forgive, no matter what success Lowe has in the future. I mean, they still bring up specific losses that Les had, and they never let Herb forget the late-season collapse after that loss to Maryland in 00-01 - the fanbase's view of Herb was permanently fractured after that. Really bad losing streaks are hard to overcome, no matter what the school/sport or who the coach is.

Everyone of our athletic teams finishes towards the bottom of the ACC. HE BLOWS! The only good hire he made was TOB, and the jury is still out on him, so we shall see. All i know is that he is the one that needs to go. We do need to start fresh, new coaches for Soccer too.

It's asinine to fire a coach after only 2 years, even if we do have a total collapse this year. I think to give a coach a fair shake normally he should be given 4 years, to see what he can do when he has primarly players he/his staff chose and recruited in years 3 and 4. If things are a trainwreck after 3 years, it might be time to go. But not after 2.

Lowe's not on the firmest of ground right now, but the man deserves another year at the absolute least.

Fowler, on the other hand, should have been gone long ago.

Quit with the fire Lowe bullshit. Crackpots like the people who are seriously calling for his head already are the reason why everyone thinks NC State's fanbase is just as much of a joke as our sports' teams. I say give him two more years and if he's still producing sub-.500 teams (in conference) that don't make the big dance, then and only then will I say we should start evaluating his performance and why we aren't getting anywhere. Assuming half of our team doesn't go down with injuries (and given our luck that's a big assumption), I think expecting a winning conference record is a reasonable expectation for next year's team.

Herb didn't leave Sidney with a point guard, which is essential in Lowe's system. We are out there with a freshman that was not highly rated, and a stopgap solution. Also, regardless of how good a coach or system is, the fact is you are dealing with human beings. John Wooden couldn't do jack with this team if the players exhibited the lack of discipline and effort we have seen at times. A coach should do what he can to adapt to his talent, but sometimes it doesn't take. And we are at 5 by my count.

As it looks right now for the tournament seedings with 3 games to go, if we stay at #11 then we'd play #6 Miami, but if we go down to #12 we'd face #5 Virginia Tech. It's been a while since we've played them and all the teams have gone their completely seperate ways that there's no way to trust what happened in the past with this team.
