Smoke Spotted at NCSU Dorm

Wake County firefighters were dispatched Wednesday morning to investigate reports of smoke rising above the University Towers at N.C. State University.

The towers, at Friendly Drive and Hillsborough Street, are student housing.

I would say emergency management's response was impressive, though. I was coming out of Nelson when 3+ fire trucks BLEW through traffic on Hillsborough (I've never seen big trucks move like that!), followed by fire marshall, RPD, and an ambulance... in what was probably record time. I was actually really relieved to see it was nothing major after all these university campus tragedies this past year across the country...

the fire tucks got there so fast because they dont want to have to answer to all the rich parents why their spoiled kids got injured from smoke inhalation. If it was a low income housing they wouldnt have gotten there so fast

ah, i remember the days of "kids" putting dryer sheets over toilet paper rolls and blowing the smoke through in UT.......those were the days.
