My guess is that if our fans are applauding a chant by another team, it's most likely 100% classless to the majority of folks, both fans and non fans of sports in general, and only amusing to 14 year olds rebelling against authority while "trying to find" themselves....I can't stand Paulus, but the last thing I would want is the mother of a blue chip recruit (not that we will get any of these in the future) to hear this chant from not one or two, but a significant amount of students.

chants like this have been happening in college ball for 25 years. Hell, the "bullshit" chant (or the barnyard chant as they colloquially used to refer to it) has been going on forever. Any recruit that is legitimately considering a school that would change their mind because the students start a potentially offensive cheer isn't worth having in my opinion.

Uh, that many people chanting that to a player that loudly doesn't happen as often as you think. The BS chant is accepted, and it's not nearly as confrontational to another player as it is to the ref, and really it's not as frowned upon. And you failed to read where I specifically mentioned the mother of a recruit, not the recruit himself. Mama has a lot of sway in the decision of a recruit. I really could care less form a personal standpoint. You'd probably hear worse things said in an elementary lunchroom, but *some* people think this public display as well as the entire Beavis and Butthead "cussing is cool yea haha yea" mentality reflects poorly on the university, like I said *some*

state fans do some unclassy things sometimes but its not so widespread that the whole country picks up on it
