When a bunch of people (in the same country) of different ethnicities and/or religions can't learn to live together and keep harming and killing each other, not to mention, holding back progress by decades, it is time to break up that country into pieces.

Iraq: Kurdistan, Sunni Arab Republic, Revolutionary Shia Republic.

In the same vein, I can think of many other countries where breaking them up would save countless lives and lead to advancement.

Sri Lanka
Pakistan
India
Lebanon
Indonesia
Phillipines
Russia
Turkey (actually, the Kurdish areas of Turkey, Syria, and Iraq meet in a triangular area, and they should be joined to form Kurdistan)
Kenya?
Many African countries

The Three State Solution:

TURKEY invades IRAQ from the North and annexes Sunni Kurdish territory to fight it out with the secular terrorists currently being harbored by the Iraqi Government.

IRAN invades IRAQ from the East, annexing Shia dominated provinces.

The largely unpopulated South can continue to fly the new Iraqi flag. No one will want to live there, though. The few who do would probably spearhead a referendum to merge with Jordan or face being a new DMZ.

Most of the oil's in the North.

That's where Turkey's already invading.

Oh, you mean the part IRAN could take (or massively disrupt) with a quickness in either scenario.

It'd be cute for about 5 minutes.

OPEC, led by Iran, would be like O RLY? and start selling oil worldwide for Euros.

Your money would be more useful as a heating fuel at that point.

The eastern part of Turkey isn't one large revolutionary field. There are a lot of Kurds in the area who don't have any problem with being part of the Republic of Turkey. This statement is equivalent to claiming that the USA needs to be broken into a Southeast, a Texas, and the Rest simply because folks in the Southeast harbor pro-CSA tendencies and Texas thinks that it's its own country.

On the flip side, Turkey needs to just stick to its original guns, and stay the f* out. It's true that Ataturk wanted what is today northern Iraq for the oil fields, but it's not worth the guerrilla war you have to win to get it. What have we all learned since Vietnam? Guerrillas always win...

No Guerrillas don't actually 'always win' and in fact almost always lose vs oppressive regimes that could care less about human life. They tend to do well against western countries that are concerned about hitting only military targets.

Regardless, Turkey couldn't hold northern Iraq and I honestly don't see this operation having a long lasting effect.

Iraq says only USA can invade to remove hostile threats. lol

Going on OPEIII plan isn't a lot of the shi'a and sunni areas intermixed.
