One thing that took me a while to learn is that there is only so much we can learn and understand in this lifetime.

We are given God's word and we have faith and trust in him.

As far as God actually choosing whether or not we go to heaven or hell....heres some actual scripture you can read:

1 Corinthians 2:6-10

predestination is a calvinist principle. i know many people that subscribe to it, but I don't.

Is God all-knowing? yes.

Does he have a plan? yes.

Are you part of that plan? that's your choice.

Free will exists independent of God's omniscience.

the fact of a predestinating god that knows his children will go to hell is why i have problems with modern day christian theology.


i have a vastly different view and think that most if not all of us will make it to heaven. and i think it will depend on our desires and good actions that back them up.

and i also don't believe in instant judgement upon death. i think we'll have time to mature and change for the better if we choose.

a lot of people go back and forth arguing over this subject. But I do not see how it matters one way or another.. There is nothing that should change about your daily life if you believe one way or the other. We know from the Bible that God is all knowing and that He has a plan for our lives. We also know that His will is going to happen one way or another. So does that mean we have free will or not? Like I said, it does not matter. If you are seeking to follow Christ, do what He has told us to do in the Bible then stop arguing about stuff like this when there are greater issues that should be discussed... Such as how to get the Bible into one of the many languages that do not currently have the Word in their own language.
