well i see part of the point but i dont wanna play now
not willing to or wanting to start the whiole tipping thing again, so i'll just say this and hopefully be able to leave it at that.
i was joking when i said what i did before, but after reading it how you put it.... i guess they're obviously better to people who really follow the tipping policy you describe. if i didn't give a dollar or something to the kid who came in to work at 5 and deals wth shithead customers all day for minimum wage, then goies home and tries to feed my family, then i'd consider myself a bad person. but thats just me i guess, im an odddballl
^ps, you should hit me up. i got mad attorneys and various other cool legal contacts in the family here and shit. we could take over the world!!!]]2/23/2008 4:03:48 AM |

also evan maybe you can find out where the prints are that they took like 6 months ago. the csi lady swore up and down they were good enough to generate a match (if in the system) - then the detective said he had something, and he hasnt called back for months. now its at the point where calling him is just a waste of time and VALUABLE PEAK CELL PHONE MINUTES!!!1 2/23/2008 4:09:27 AM |

I worked in coffee shops for way too many years. The worst tips I ever got were when I worked in stores near rich neighborhoods College kids are usually nice with their tips. 2/23/2008 7:20:04 AM |

after working in various coffee shops for over 3 1/2 years, I have concluded that coffee shops near rich neighborhoods or big businesses are the worst at giving tips. The ones I worked at near NC State were awesome with tips. 2/23/2008 8:16:47 AM |

like a "walk up to the counter and order/pay" coffee shop?
you're supposed to tip at those? 2/23/2008 8:19:24 AM |

so....you tip the barista that makes minimum wage, but you don't tip the mcdonalds employee who makes minimum wage? I tip for positions that make below minimum wage and people who offer exceptional service. making my coffee in ~ 1 minute doesn't really count to me as a tip-worthy service if it is behind the counter. now...if this were a cafe of sorts where they brought your coffee to your table along w/ any food stuffs and "waited" on you, then I could see where the tip thing could come into play. I've worked many jobs at minimum wage, and making minimum wage doesn't necessarily constitute deserving a tip.
but yeah, Robot Coffee Makers ftw! 2/23/2008 11:37:22 AM |

ps you dont tip the people at mcdonalds cause they never give you free hamburgers and stuff. plus they design it so you throw your change in the ronald mcdonald house plastic box.
the old starbucks lady always makes me a triple shot blah blah with enough caffeine in it to keep me up all day and charges me for the small. sometimes never charges. but then that store got bought by HT (it was a starbucks inside a grocery store) so i never see her anymore. i have her number but that would be a weird call to make. hey where do you work now, i want some free shit.
but seriously i paid that starbucks lady like 10-15 bucks a week in tips and it was still probably half what i would have spent at a starbucks where i didnt tip.
but you guys keep being douchebags to people, and see where it gets you!!1]] 2/23/2008 11:10:44 PM |

Baristas making minimum wage? hahahahahaha. If there actually is someone working in a place like Starbucks for minimum wage, they're a fucking moron.
Honestly I don't see how tipping a barista is any different from tipping a bartender.
If you really hate tipping you can do what I did and move to a country where it doesn't exist 2/25/2008 4:56:37 AM |
