^^Yeh, I read on packpride that Mrs. Wuf will be competing for the mascot championship. She won it last year and Mr. Wuf won it 2 years ago. Some funding from the athletics department goes to the cheerleaders, so maybe Lee Fowler can get credit for buying the wolf costumes.

Won the 1st game 8-1 and lost the 2nd 7-5. Josh Dowdy, former ECU pitcher, started for App in the first one and we scored 7 runs off of him. Pitching wasn't what we thought it would be in the 2nd game.

I'd like to know if there is a sport that State hasn't been a complete disappointment.

I honestly can't think of one, mens or womens. I think across the board, 07/08 might be the worst athletic perfomance by this school ever.

Nationals is the second week in April, but currently, Ms. Wuf is #3 in the country, Mr Wuf is #8, The cheerleaders are tied for 1st with Oklahoma State, and Dance team is top 10 also. Also, there's is a couple on the cheerleading squad that already competed at partner stunt nationlas and finished 17th, which for those of you that care, is alot higher than any other program at this school...

The wrestlers do have some really highly ranked people (top 10 or so), and Gymnastics is top 20

Ok. We got cheerleading, dancing, and gymnastics.

Wrestling dominated the ACC last year. That isn't the case this year. Not sure what the deal is with our wrestling team. Caldwell should compete for a national title by the time he leaves here. Maybe everyone else on the team sucks.

Both tennis teams seem to be good. But they'll both collapse in true State form.

Soccer teams suck.

Basketball teams suck.

Football team sucked.

Cross country (mens) should have competed for a NC this year with a bunch of redshirt seniors but couldn't even win the ACC. Same with the women.

Softball looks like they'll suck.

Baseball will probably suck.

Volleyball team sucks.

Did I miss anything?

Check this out.. Fowler's daughter (not only is she Fowler's daughter), but she is also on the suck ass volleyball team. How bad does it suck to be her.

Her dad cant run a program and her team hasn't won an ACC conference game in like 10 years.

Honestly if you look at only basketball and football, there are very few schools that compete in major conferences in both that have done shittier than us this year. It seems like every other major college either had a the football team go to a bowl game or has a bb team with tourney hopes.

The only schools as shitty as us that I can think of are:

Northwestern
Iowa State
Minnesota

Of course Fowler will somehow keep his job. Fuck that guy - I will celebrate the day his ass is fired.

hahahaha, well, Iowa State beat Iowa in football this year and beat Colorado at home in one of the best comebacks in 07. So at least there was a little excitement for the fanbase.

Minnesota also got Tubby Smith.

Northwestern probably set some record for student-athlete GPA's.

Northwestern has won a share of the Big Televen 2 or 3 times in the last 12 years in football. Minnesota has had some really good basketball teams and decent football teams. Even Iowa State was a 2 seed in basketball not too long ago.

^^ While that is true, my argument was based only on this school year 07-08. We have, outside of Northwestern and ISU, the worst combination of basketball and football success of any major conference team that participates in both sports.

Given our resources, facilities, the Wolfpack Club, etc. that is just plain unacceptable. How the hell does Lee Fowler keep his job??

Eh, every team usually has at least one good pitcher they can trot out to the mound in college who can have a good game and give that team a chance against anybody. That's how these college teams can beat the MLB teams during spring training. They'll save their ace for that game and if he is on that day, the college team usually wins.
