Fuck Angela Gossow.

Don't get me wrong, arch enemy has been my #2 favorite band for quite some time, but Johan Liva was a much better vocalist for AE.

Light this city has a female vocalist, but their songs are a bit cookie cutter.

amy lee needs to join a real band, she has one of the best voices in rock I've ever heard, best female voice (even though she doesn't use it that artistically)

why not join alice in chains, not sure she could hit all of layne's notes but that would definetly be cool

Paramore is more pop-rock than metal, but their lead singer is kinda emo-hot

Damone ("Out here all night" is a pretty good song of theirs)
Sahara Hotnights ("No Big Deal" is a pretty good song of theirs)
Tsunami Bomb (even though they arent together anymore)

they arent metal - more punk rock, but still kickass for girl singers

Since you didn't specify lead vocalist or permanent band member, I offer Skin on Sevendust's "Licking Cream"--one of the hottest tracks ever.

Flyleaf is not even close to being metal. Not even a little bit.

Neither is Evanescence.

I have all of tsunami bomb I've seen them live twice.. their breakup sucks though.
I also like Bikini Kill, and although i wouldn't really call them metal or punk but sleater kinney is pretty cool too i'd say closer to a classic rock style than anything. Le Trigre can be ok when they don't go all weird and techno.

But thanks for adding more bands to my arsenal!

Sleater-Kinney...so fucking good.

Their last record (The Woods) is probably the most bombastic thing put on tape in the past ten years.
