He brings so much effort and moves his feet like crazy compared to javi and johnson. Unlike those two he can actually shoot the three and not look stupid while he's doing it. Also horner sucks, the "shot" he brings isn't enough for his slow ass to try to defend and commit retarted fouls.

and i'm dead serious and you can begin your flaming.

Ferguson is not a PG.

That being said I think Courtney Fells is a better player than Ferguson. Ferguson is a good off the bench guy to give us some rest, but I think starting him over Fells would be a poor decision.

If you would read my first sentence I was explaining to you that Ferguson isn't a point guard. This isn't a video game or the New York Knicks where you just play 5 shooting guards. If you play Ferguson you have to also have a PG on the court. Learn to read before you call people idiots.

ferg hasn't played enough for us to really make a comparison.

by this one game's standards though, he's starting quality for sure.

You guys change your minds every game. One game Evans sucks, the next he is Phillip Rivers. I can assure you there isn't a team of All-Stars sitting on the bench all game while we get blown out on. The issue is with our team playing together, not with having the wrong players on the floor.

Ferguson has played well every chance he's gotten ... and saying he's not a PG doesn't really matter at this point. Is Johnson a PG? Hell no.

ha, if by played well you mean throwing up and bricking shots, then I'll agree. He doesn't turn the ball over much though. There is no solution to this team playing shitty. The season has been over for a while now.

and that's we he should start. He played a great hi-lo game today and knew exactly when he had enough separation.

i disagree here, the way we finish out says a lot. Also you gotta love watching the ACC tourney and pulling for your team. Also don't forget about the duke game at home.

Fergy hasn't turned the ball over much this year because he hasn't run the point. He is neither fast nor quick; he is slow and awkward. He is one of the worst guards at dribbling that I've ever seen play in the ACC. We use him as a catch and shoot last-resort role player, which is the most he can ever be.

JT3bucky, you keep saying "I've said this for quite some time." What the hell are you bragging about. This is one of the worst ideas I've heard. Gavin Grant is a better PG than Ferguson, and we saw how many turnovers Grant had last year. Suggesting Ferguson should play anything other than SG is a bad idea. Based on how poor the production has been at the PG position this year(with the exception of Degand in the streak leading up to his injury), don't you think if there was another alternative it would have already been used by now? Fells at PG= BAD IDEA; Ferguson at PG= BAD IDEA. If you move either of them to pg you are going to reduce the amount of 3 point looks they get, and neither of them are good ball handlers/passers. Ferguson has looked good at SG recently, but I wouldn't start him over Fells.

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW FERGUSON WOULD BE A TERRIBLE POINT GUARD?

He played sparingly at the position last year AS A FRESHMAN, and hasn't brought the ball up once this year

Let me make clear that i don't think Ferg is the long-term answer at PG. But with the team we have right now, I don't think it'd make much difference.

At the very least, give him johnson's minutes

^BECAUSE WHEN HE TRIES TO DRIBBLE HE LOOKS FAR LESS GRACEFUL THAN SHAQ DRIBBLING! DRIBBLING IS IMPORTANT TO BEING A POINT GUARD! I CAN SHOUT TOO!

Well he is not very good at handling the ball, he's slow, and he's a below average passer. Putting him at PG would be like the Utah Jazz putting Jeff Hornacek in at PG(before Hornacek retired). Ferguson would see a reduction in 3 point looks at the point guard position as well

JT3 please explain. You aren't comparing them as a SG with them as a PG. You are just naming PGs that shoot 3s. And Fells shoots more 3s than Javi anyways, so I really don't see your point. It's easier to get more 3 pt attempts when people are penetrating and kicking out to you, and you are getting more screens to shoot off of. Do you think JJ Reddick would get as many 3 point shots if he was playing PG instead of SG. What about Chris Lofton?

youre comparing apples to oranges

how many times have YOU seen Ferg run the PG position? chances are none

I actually have seen it a few times, and if you dont think ANYONe can do better than Johnson, then you dont belong here. Johnson has no ability at the point at all IMO...Ferg could at LEAST compete for those min.

no.... he's naming the last three PG's at nc state. point is, whoever plays point in this system (or any system for that matter) will have plenty of chances to shoot threes

My point was that you were comparing apples to oranges. Don't you think there's a reason we haven't seen Ferguson run the PG at any level (high school included). I'll give you a hint, it's the same reason we haven't seen Hickson at the PG position. I'm not saying Johnson should even be playing PG, I'm saying Ferguson shouldn't start at PG. If you remember Ferguson playing PG last year it was an absolute disaster. His best attribute is his 3 point shooting ability. If you think his 3 point shooting ability will be utilized more at the PG position than at the SG position you are dead wrong.

a) he was a freshman last year

b) describe "disaster" ... from what i remember, the VERY limited time Ferg played at point last year, it didn't seem terrible to me. Nothing special, but not a disaster either. Furthermore, it was head and shoulders above the PG play we've seen this year. Maybe it looked worse because we were comparing him to Engin, who was damn near flawless.

wouldnt that already make him better at the point than sayyyyy Johnson? who has started many games this year?
He's taller than Javi and actually played Singletary the best of anyone and guarding the other teams guards is what we need right now

saying he would take less threes is fine if you want to think that, personally I think he would get just as many chances with the style offense we run.

basically, you obviously havent seen our guards play and...

you are helping me win this evaluation

Ferguson isn't that bad. He's got a pretty good three point shot, isn't a bad ball-handler, seems somewhat intelligent on the court, and plays his ass off.

That right there makes him better than about 99% of the players on our team. If he continues to play the way he did tonight, then he should continue to get good minutes. Its not rocket science.

Sid has shown that he is willing to take players out of the game when they are lazy and put in someone just because he knows they will hussle...

I think at this point we need to see more of this... I'd like to see more of Smith, Ferguson, and Harris simply because of this.

correction, he had a pretty good three point shot tonight. he's airballed his fair share of wide fucking open threes this season.

but past judgements be damned, if he can play like he did tonight, then put him in.

^ god damn.

i've never seen really this bad of a player in my history of watching the acc. go find me worse. plz

horrible decision making, easily predictable, horrible shooting, no passing skills, he doesn't look around the court past the players right on top of him.

just a bad player
