This year....
The United States Air Force will start at least partial phase-out of their B-52 Bombers, which will have then served 93 years of combat.
August 12 — A Solar Eclipse will occur from Northern California to Florida.
Futurist Ray Kurzweil predicts a Technological Singularity for 2045, i.e. a runaway cycle of self-improvement by intelligent machines, resulting in explosive technological development.

why do you care about the b52 being phased out?
my brother used to work on them (then he worked on the b2, and now works on jstars doing ABM) and i always thought they were pretty cool (big workhorse)

The attempt at the B29 was the Tu-4. It's actuallyt a pretty funny story.
