I liked reading the stories on his website and I see how they are relevant in print, but he falls short of his character whenever I see him on TV or hear him on the radio.

The links that Nighthawk posted are a good example. The first time I saw a video of Tucker I expected someone who exudes confidence. What I saw was a person with a big imagination trying to pass off his exaggerations as truth. He doesn't sound believable and he displays a lot of tell-tale signs of lying. I'm sure there is some truth to some of his stories, but I get the impression that the Tucker Max we know from his stories is not the Tucker Max of real life. He takes true scenarios and then applies his afterthoughts of "wouldn't it be wild if ..." to make a story that is interesting to read and at least somewhat believable.

Good writer, bad speaker.
