Europe uses a more valuable currency as well. Ours is devaluing as gas prices continue to go up. And also keep in mind much of the money they spend on gas consists of taxes that go back into social programs that benefit them. Much of our money goes straight into oil companys' pockets where we don't see a dime of it.

Boo Hoo. Cry me a fucking river. I will post what I posted in the other gas thread here also.
Quote : | "I love people who freak out over gas prices. Say gas was half what it is now. So like $1.60. A tank on average is what....16 gallons? Thats around $24 a week difference. Most college students at most fill up once a week. If $24 a week is gonna cause you to flip the fuck out or be broke, then you have other issues you need to deal with. Its like these people who say they can't take a trip on vacation because of the gas prices. If that extra $100-200 is gonna make or break your trip, then you don't need to be taking it anyway, your ass needs to be working instead. " |
Stop bitching over $100 a month at most. $25 a week should not be enough reason for people to keep freaking the fuck out.3/13/2008 1:06:13 AM |

A very narrow view of the situation. A lot of people are on fixed incomes, and combine that with the millions that live in the lower-to-middle tax bracket, and you have a bunch of people who are feeling or will begin to feel a squeeze, because its not like gas prices are going to level off any time soon. So at what point can people complain, then? When it starts to bother you?

^^^This is a college message board, for poor college students. $100 a month is a lot to a 21 year old like myself, who works 40 hours a week so I can pay my tuition and all of my bills.

Yes, it does. Perhaps you go bitch to mommy and daddy for not planning enough for your future. Or you just go bitch at yourself for not saving enough. Either way, the high gas prices arent that big of a deal. Its just most of you make it out to be. 3/13/2008 3:26:40 AM |

don't know if anyone has been to the grocery store lately but i've noticed as much as 50% increase in the cost of some items.
Like mentioned before.....for those on a fixed income a $100/mo in extra gas bill + another $100/mo in extra grocery cost + etc........it starts adding up 4/21/2008 7:12:15 PM |

I remember being pissed when using a credit card, the pump shut off at 50$ and 3/4 of a tank. You either had to be fluent in Zimbabwain or back the fucking car to the next pump to fill up the tank. A few months ago most stations reprogrammed up to 75$ cut-off. Sweet! For a month. Now where the fuck can I get a Zimbabwe dictionary? 4/21/2008 10:40:01 PM |
