the raleigh store isn't closing... the rent at the location we're at now is ridiculous, it's just gonna move somewhere else when the lease is up.

mike phillips being a little league coach is pretty funny though

edit to add that cd alley is really the best record store in the triangle anyways

glad to hear the hillsborough st one is just moving.

and, awww CD Alley...

though it closed after i came to college, i was sad when CD Alley closed in Greenville. I used to go there every weekend, and sometimes during the week, in high school for hours on end.

that's sad, but i guess it makes sense since my trips to chapel hill are really just for shows or to go to pepper's and cd alley

when i'm in raleigh i'll always go to schoolkids, so it'll probably be less of a pain in the ass if it's not on hillsborough anyway

Chapel Hill should have known that something was fucked up when the Gap couldn't stay open on Franklin. The spot has been empty for something like 4 years now.

there's a 5:15 showing of juno, and you'd better not do anything in the theater.

i can see everything from up here.

Me too. We'd go to Backdoor Skatepark all the time and always stopped at CD Alley too.

There should be some kind of projectionist "what I've seen from up there" thread.

I saw a dude straight up smoking in the front row of a movie one time from the projection room, I guess he thought that because he was alone it was cool.

Sorry that story sucked.

I hate to see anybody out of work, though. And I don't want any record stores to close--I was just looking for a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T on my B-day.

Why did it move in the first place? I miss my upstairs metal section.

When I was a kid it was one of the only places you could find Atari/Intellivision games.
