its probably a smart idea. you don't have to forget things during the summer, which makes studying easier and you have time to focus on it. who is teaching it? 2/27/2008 8:52:17 AM |

I took Organic 2 over the summer. It's a lot of work, but it actually helps you understand the material. Be prepared (If you take sandbergs) for:
About 1 hour to watch her online lecture every day- you can't skip watching because during it she'll ask lecture questions that are 1/2 of the homework About another 20 minutes to an hour to do her webassign homework.
Also, it is a full summer course (session 1 and session 2).
Just make sure you really can commit before you spend the $700, otherwise I found it worth it. 2/27/2008 10:48:24 AM |

I've heard from a ChemE major and a Pre-Vet that it's THE way to go. 2/27/2008 11:26:47 AM |

I took Sandberg's organic II one summer session. I also took modern american history the same summer session so it was pretty busy. Its only 5 weeks of class though so you can get through it really quickly. You will have to dedicate time to the class though if you take sandberg because of the webassigns. It is essential that you actually go to lecture or you wont be learning a thing and will get behind really quickly.
When i took the class (summer session II of 06) there were 2 tests and a final all on webassign. Not too bad because you usually get a couple submission tries for each question. The homework webassigns can be time consuming if you dont fully understand the material but just go to class and you will do fine.
Also, the first test is about half as much material as the second so do really well on the first and you can do ok on the second (since it is so much material) and a decent final exam grade will still leave you with a B or even an A in the class.
Best advice for taking this class - try to make it to class everyday AND PAY ATTENTION in class and you will do great 2/29/2008 3:46:46 AM |

i took organic over the summer with the female professor that works at peace with the bum eye...she's married to a department head (or something) in chemistry
she was absolutely AWESOME...i love chemistry, but have always struggled with it...i really enjoyed organic and made an A just showing up every day, paying attention, and asking questions when i was confused (well, i suppose what's what you're supposed to do, but i usually don't ) 3/5/2008 2:34:36 PM |
