are the cesspools that look like little urinals beside the water fountains at the gym spit fountains?
these have to be unsanitary

Its more sanitary than not having one. If people don't have a spit fountain, they'll spit in the water fountain. At least it keeps people from spitting into a drinking fountain.

i saw a guy with his head under the water in those things once, to cool off i guess, maybe thats the intended purpose, still gross none the less
