I've only listened to it a few times, and it's pretty awesome.

^^umm, lots of bands release an album every year. why does this seem unusual?

Very few bands release an album per year any more.

that and it seems unusual due to the historic frequency of his full studio albums (i didnt click the link, but i'm assuming this is a full studio album)

(not counting things like further down the downward spiral, etc.. but phm, broken (barely qualifies really), tds, fragile, wt)

Not typical NIN stuff, but not bad, if you like lounge/electronic type of music.

I just got the CD's as a gift from a friend (well, don't have the CD's yet, just the FLAC version).

It's definitely chill, and since it's from NiN I'm probably gonna like all of it.

^ He's clearly found out the path for future music artists. He did establish himself with record companies first, though. He's bound to make tons of money with his current pricing schemes and what he offers.

I like the new album(s) so far. Nice ambient music.

i love the new album. i've wanted something like this since he released still in 2001. when i heard it was 36 songs i was afraid it was going to be :30 songs that were weak as hell. i was wrong. i dig the art work too.

they are also rumored to be playing Lollapalooza this year, which happens 8/1 - 8/3 in Chicago. If true, they will obviously be playing Friday or Sunday night.

NIN film festival idea:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYDUk0ESwt4

In the video he states the concept of the new album and talks about how they will present user feedback (like the user remixes of year zero) this go round.

i like the flow of this idea, the musicians start with an image, create music to describe that image, and then have listeners design images in response to the music. it should be interesting to compare the images from two perspectives.
