List organizations that you have earned a right to join. I'm not talking about every Tom, Dick and Harry club/organization that anyone can join. I'm talking about ones that you had to pass certain standards to join.

Not talking about every strip club you're a "member" of either..

Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

Though I will never join them based solely on the amount of junk mail that they send. Thats the same reason that I don't donate to Habitat for Humanity anymore.

^^ I completely understand. Ever since I sent in my yearly membership due I get shit ALL THE TIME to donate to some American Legion cause. I'm not Mr Money Bags and I don't have the money to give to every charity out there...

I think I can join the VFW too... I haven't checked all their requirements and I never get any membership notifications from them.

I gave money to Habitat over a year ago and they generally send me mail every week or two and call me twice a month.

Not sure if these could count.. But I'm eventually going to join some historical organizations.

I've got several ancestors who were in the Revolutionary War as well as some who were in the Civil War(both sides covered). Still trying to get documented proof of my line back to them.

I'm going pay someone to do a whole family tree for me at some point.

I do know that of the 4 brothers who brought my surname over from Germany in the 1750s, 2 were killed by Indians in Kentucky in the 1780s. Their descendants made up for it by killing lots of them.

I'm pretty sure that I can't join any tribes.

^ Be prepared to shell out the $$... I've been working on mine on and off for about 15 years and it can be overwhelming at times. It's fun though. I enjoy finding out about useless tidbits from my familys history.
