FWIW at Performance in Chapel Hill......

And I am no salesman, but usually we (techs) have a good scoop on whats coming out. I had no clue the M3 was going to be available in the E90.

Oh man, dig that subtle, lush forest scene in the background on the window sticker.

That's pretty fitting with the gas guzzler tax on there.

i haven't see IRL, but from pictures it is darker and less vivid than imola red.

IR is by far the prettiest red color.

thats interesting, we just got a red m3(same options, no CF roof) yesterday here in greensboro as well and the silver one is on the way, the damn salespeople keep bringing these overweight, bald, starbucks drinking, middle aged white guys into the shop to look at it...

it hadnt even been taken out of transport mode yet and the killswitch was still hooked up and one guy wouldnt even get in the car because he thought it meant we were 'downloading something to the car' and he didnt want to mess up the process.

My honduh is painted silverstone metallic too! Mine wasn't a 425$ option though....shit I probably have the non luxury version. No wonder my mirrors don't tilt.

$1900 for Premium Sound
$595 for Satellite Radio
$350 for HD Radio
$400 for iPod/USB adapter

= $3245 in stereo upgrades.
That's a lot of loot for a stereo that doesn't have any glowing tubes or the ability to set off car alarms.

I used to love BMW, but bangle ruined it. For the money, I think I'd go with the Nissan GTR.

So even with all the gizmos, this thing appears to be a drivers car, so to speak. I think I'm going to pay more attention to it this weekend, but went and saw the car in person today. I must say I think it looks absolutely gorgeous, also they nailed the size, it's just right.

The one thing I didn't like initially was the stupid stitched on "carbon fiber" in the dash (on the sedan). Very attractive car however, I was quite impressed.

got to take a ride in the e92 that came in today(sold car with the CF roof) and holy hell these things are rockets, you can set up the M drive(if equipped) for differential slippage and that just made turns hella fun

the car felt solid at the speeds we hit, about 80 at the most, and was just relentless on the throttle response and on top of that the sound is unlike any M ive heard before it...needless to say there will be plenty of dumbass kids getting themselves killed in these things in the near future.

ahaha, I usually buy a dollar powerball ticket if I can remember on said days, and I'd probably do the same...except I'd never buy anything from fucking Crook Hendrick or Performance Automotive.

i'm a honda accord type guy =/ personally one of my communism ideas would be to make everyone drive a honda accord...that way people wouldnt use as much money on other cars when the accord can do what you need

gas guzzler tax applies to any car (not truck) that gets under 22.5mpg combined.

quite a few more cars with v8's are going to be under this category.

the c6 escaped though ( bigblueram)

fwiw the old I-6 m3 was also under a gas guzzler penalty.

what was the loop hole that allows SUV/truck to not pay gas guzzler tax? not that it matters with the consumer demand, since it's only $1300.

the loop hole was that the gas guzzler tax intiated in like 1970's and was last updated in the early 90's

Pre SUV explosion

the loophole is that a SUV is a station wagon.
