nope, we beat duke -- it was Ga Tech that beat us, when we were #9 in '02.

In BB, it hasn't been since sometime in the 80's. I think we got to around 11 or so in '06 when Herb started off the season 18-4 before the usual february collapse.

weren't we ranked like 8th or 9th in baseball 2 seasons ago...the year Mangini choked away the acc championship at 3rd base against Clemson? (we weren't ranked that high at that point, but we made a hell of a run in the middle of that season...swept a top 10 uva, 2/3 over gt ranked #2 or3...it was fun.)

Would have been spring of 2006 I think. At one point I think there were 3 ACC teams in the top 10, and like 5 or 6 in the top 25. We sucked after our highest ranking that year but thats just typical nc state shit.

Our baseball team has a chance to be pretty good this year and the ACC is second to only maybe the SEC when it comes to baseball. The ACC sends a crazy amount of teams to the tournament each year. I am excited about our team as long as the rotation can hold up.

Our baseball team will wilt... there are 5 or so teams in the top 25 from the ACC right now and we arent one...and considering we just squeaked out wins vs. a&t and valpo...and smurgcamp is a douche...In closing baseball team can suck it too

Pretty sure we were 11th.

State's never finished top 10 in football in the AP polls...and I remember thinking 'Aghh, so close'

Man, we whipped the dog shit outta Clemson that night. I'll never forget Trev Alberts bashing State before the game..saying they were going to 'expose' NC State and possibly take them to the woodshed then chanting 'I believe, I believe!' at halftime when the score was like 28-0. Mark May was a big fan of ours that year. One of my favorite games as a Wolfpacker. We looked incredible... TA jumping over the pile and running for about 70 yards.... Holt and Manny blocking everything.

I'm trying to remember what the three were. I know it started with Georgia Tech and I think it ended with Maryland. Was the the team in the middle?? Virginia?? FSU??

And didn't we finish pretty high that year after spanking Notre Dame? I want to say we finished top 15...like #14 maybe??

Nevermind...found some of it. We lost to GT, Maryland, then UVa...and beat FSU the last game 17-7. Pretty sure that was the Xavier Lee game where they said he threw it for betting reasons.

Still trying to find our final ranking for that year.

I remember us distinctly being #11 becuase of what I posted above (Even though it was coaches poll). We've never been top 10 AP, and we were close @ #12.

In 2004 (early) we were ranked in the top 10 (9) in bball for one week, then we lost to washington on the road, so was wake, unc, duke and gt thats why i remember it lol...

That was also the year we snuck into the tourney, but made it to the sweet 16, wierd year definately

Did you tryout for the team and get cut or what is the deal? Wins are wins when it comes to baseball because just about any team can beat any team on a given day. We are 6-2 and because we aren't ranked right now means we aren't any good? I swear some of you will never be happy unless we are top ten in every single sport.
