We reserve the right to expand or combine divisions to accommodate competitors. 1. No Stalling. The referee will issue warnings for the 1st offense of stalling (i.e. backing out of the guard without engaging, butt scooting, fleeing the ring to avoid takedown/submission attempts). The 2nd offense will result in a 2 points deduction. A 3rd offense will result in a disqualification. 2. No striking, eye gouging (includes chin to eye), head butting, biting, small joint manipulation (finger or toe locks), or hair and ear pulling. 3. If the competitors are near the edge of the ring, the ref will move them back to the center of the ring. From there the competitors will be restarted from the same position. If the referee is unable to duplicate the original position, the competitors will restart from a standing position. 4. No slamming at all. - Slamming to escape the guard and various submissions from the guard will result in immediate disqualifications. 5. There are no points for reversals. It is a person's obligation to escape a bad position (mount, rear mount, or side control). No points are awarded for these escapes. 6. Referee has the discretion to call a match for use of excessive force (i.e. competitor refuses to release pressure after opponent submits or opponent refuses to submit and the referee believes that the submission will cause immediate damage or injury). The referees will be shown maximum respect at all times. Their decisions are final and will not be disputed. 7. No unsportsmanlike conduct allowed as observed by referee (includes spitting, use of foul language, obscene gestures, etc.). Warnings will be given for unsportsmanlike conduct. Repeat offenders will be disqualified. 8. Advantages are submission attempts that posed a real threat to the other fighter, near takedowns, near sweep, near passes etc. Advantages will only be used in the case of a tie with points. 9. No lubricants, oils, or lotions of any kind permitted of any part of the body or clothing.
Additional No-Gi Rules 1. No Advantages will be used in regulation time, will be used in over time. Overtime matches will last for three minutes. 2. Cannot grab opponents shirt or shorts. 3. Uniforms, Gis, or Kimonos are optional for submission grappling divisions; Mouthpiece and groin protection are recommended. 4. Can opener technique will be allowed as long as the individual releases the head as soon as the guard opens. The can opener technique can not be used as a method to submit the opponent except for in the advance divisions.
Illegal No-Gi Techniques Advanced —All submissions are Legal Intermediate —No Heel Hooks, twisting leg locks, flying scissor takedown, or Neck Cranks Beginner — No Heel Hooks, twisting leg locks, Kneebars, flying scissor takedown, or Neck Cranks Teen, Kids Divisions—No Leg Locks, flying scissor takedown, No Neck Cranks
Point scoring 2 Points for a Takedown or Throw 4 Points for Mount Position 4 Points for Back Mount with Hooks 4 Points for Back Mount knees on ground, opponent flat on stomach (Additional 4 points are scored by putting the hooks in from this position - Gi ONLY) 3 Points for Passing the Guard 2 Points for a Sweep from Guard 2 Points for Knee on stomach
Competitors must maintain position for a minimum of three seconds to be awarded points.
