I've done this and had someone do it for me... it didn't matter much for me because I cancel the cards immediately and don't use debit anyway. I got my pictures, gift cards, student id, and drivers id back at least, but only because I was a lazy fuck who was in no hurry to replace them.


^this is why I keep an extra card/cash at the house and in a safe deposit box.

^THAT sucks and I know from experience. Sadly enough, it was my mom who ripped me off. The only way I could get my wallet back was to say, "I'm not mad if you took the money, I just need my wallet."

She was a boozehound.

^^ yep thats why I pay for everything with cards unless it's a cash only place or sketch...

Card you get it back if someone steals or overcharges you (plus cash back rewards), use cash it's gone if stolen.

my buddy had a guy rob him at gunpoint a BP in gboro the other night. he lost his wallet for sure and had 200 cash in it

Eventually it won't be worth robbing anyone as we all switch to credit cards and no cash, you can't get cash with most credit cards unless you have set that up with the company. If they leave you alive you can cancel everything pretty quick (if some how they use a credit or debit, it's refunded).

Someone from the university of tennessee left their wallet at wolf creek a few weeks back and still hasn't claimed it. I went the extra bit and tracked down his parents phone # to let them know we have it. Guess he doesn't care for his SS card or other licenses....

UPDATE * saw the other wallet thread

the post office called me the other day, tracked me down through my student id and gave me my wallet back....nothing was missing

someone put it in a post office drop box wherever they found it

I bet there are some mailmen out there that find them in the box and take the cash.

On second thought, they probably put some decoy wallets in the boxes for that reason.
