What do you think is the relationship between a car's price and it's lap time on the Top Gear test track?

Currently making an Excel spreadsheet of the results.

Will post graph in an hour or so.... make your guesses!

oh jeez.

price doesnt matter.

you can build a car that will blow a lot of them out the water for a 1/4 price.

hell, beef up my civic and you have a contender

Did they ever do an STi test on Top Gear? I was hella impressed with the Evo MR and I'd like to see how it stack's up in comparison.

Make Price the x axis, time the y axis, and label each point with the car name

yes they did. They did a side by side comparison of the STi and Evo. The Evo won in most categories as far as performance but they still picked the STi as the winner because of styling and personal choice.

And if anyone is gutsy enough:

Do all of those

EDIT: Here is a better one. I can't get the names field to correspond with the points, though:

dont try to fit a line to this data. just do it as a scatter plot.

also, next to each dot you could put what the car was .

You want price to be on the x axis because it is the independent variable.

this comparison would be much more interesting in the 100k and less price range

It's all over youtube. Search Evo vs Sti and find the top gear episode for it.

graph the lap time on a different axis. Excel allows you to specify to used a 2'nd X-axis
