My machine froze in the middle of a game, screen black, keyboard lights flashing like it was rebooting. When it did, my display never came back on (monitor said 'no signal') like the monitor wasn't plugged in. It didn't sound like it was having an issue rebooting, but I couldn't tell BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING.

I've swapped out the video card, tried a pcie card and an agp, but nothing has brought the display to the monitor.

I have a PCI graphincs card in an older computer that I can try if anyone still thinks it might be the vid card, but I thought I'd hit up tww before I break out the screwdriver.

Am I overlooking something? I can post specs on any of the above mentioned parts if it will help, but I am reaching hte end of my patience with this damned thing. PLz to give advice before I give this computer the Office Space fax/Old Yeller treatment.

bios beeps, everything sounds like it would otherwise.

Tried switching out monitor/cables...nothing.

I'm pulling out the power supply to test it now...

Wow...turns out there was a loose cap that covers one of the power plugs. Got caught in the fan in the rear of the Power supply housing and [i think] caused it to overheat. Seems ok now that its had some time to cool and had the foregin object removed

I have never seen that happen before.

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
