Do you have a strong opinion on the merits of the trivium and the quadrivium, as they fit into a classical education?

the trivium, as in the study of logic, grammar, and rhetoric that was the foundation of the medieval liberal arts education! and of course the next step was the quadrivium - arithmetic, geometry, music, and astronomy! we can discuss it some time

I think in order to have a proper education on top of the reading writing and arithmetic you must have music and the arts taught as well.

As humans we must do the things that set us apart from the other animals, which is carry on with an education to the extent that we have, and continue into the humanities courses. Everyone should be required to take a music class at least one year at every school they attend. Not only is it proven that being able to read and understand music can help people excell if math, but it makes the person's mind more well rounded.
