Look at how stupid you people are. Maybe your sink isn't the place to dump garbage? 3/18/2008 12:14:13 AM |

Oh I'm sorry should I tow the Republican party line would that please a GOPer like you?
You swing from GOP cock day in and day out, but claim to be an independent. The most hilarious thing about this is that you stole the whole shtick from O'Reilly -- you are the least independent, least original person on these boards. 3/18/2008 1:30:43 AM |

Wow. I never knew it was:
Democratic platform = ban garbage disposals Republican platform = garbage disposals are ok
This will surely influence who I vote for for president. 3/18/2008 6:19:50 AM |

why dont you people that are mad about the ban start composting your food scraps instead of washing them down the sink 3/18/2008 10:59:36 AM |

^ I've composted for over 20 years, but I'm still upset over this bullshit
besides, residential composting should be reserved to vegetable (fruit/fungus/bread) scraps
not meat, fat, oil, or sugary foods (unless you REALLY know what you're doing; (putrefaction is hazardous and smelly)
the city could implement municipal composting of these wastes coming from kitchen drains
but if they don't even want to improve the handling of grease, then I doubt they'd want that
nonetheless, and as I said in the other thread

The city isn't going to force composting. So it's basically a voluntary thing. If your disposal breaks, figure out an alternative to putting your food down the drain. They're not offering alternate plans or ideas for alternatives; they're basically policing disposals, but not coming up with viable solutions. Everything will have an opportunity cost and if the city wants to impose these restrictions, they need to first fully research the potential impact and second, research and offer up alternatives. Otherwise their restrictions just appear in haste and without merit. I like the idea of composting. Will most people around here do it? Probably not. However, with a little education more might. That all needs to be integrated into this ban. The whole thing has been poorly dealt with and delivered. 3/21/2008 10:41:22 PM |
