You need to order the cd drive from the manufacturer cause it will probably specific for that model. Then it's probably just like unscrewing one screw, sliding out the old one, sliding the new one in, and that's it.

Yeah don't get anybody to repair your shit for you. CD Drive is a fix you can do in about 30 seconds.

What make/model of laptop do you have? And if you can get it out, what type of CD-Rom do you have?

^ Is right, ebay will probably have an OEM part for a semi-reasonable price. It'll be easy to find at least.

Hmm... Sony website lists a lot of options for drives for that laptop on their website.

Just search on ebay for the part number that you find on the drive you took out of your laptop and buy it. Should be as simple as popping it in and enjoying the new drive, unless a portion of the IDE controller on your motherboard in your laptop failed.

So I sent my computer to a SONY "authorized" repair center since it was somehow covered under my warranty, but after like 2 weeks of "repairing", they just replaced a couple parts and everything looks new now,

But the CD drive is still broken....
