If you have a used bike, a mangled one, one thats had parts stolen, or left over parts, I'll come pick them up, i live in garner and am near campus often. Last time one person even had a bike frame that had the wheels and seat stolen, they said they had left it locked to the rack when they found it that way because they had no use for it, and it was still there, so they just told me the location and the combination, so that works too. I know you can buy bikes for cheap on craig's list, but I enjoy restoring bikes. admittedly I'm trying to save money but also offering money would be complicated because I don't want to give people a place to sell stolen parts and theres no way for me to tell if someone is offering me the stolen half or the remaining half. Bike parts are fairly standard and I have been able to build good bikes from free parts people gave me before. This time its to replace some stolen from my wife and I. Last time I did this I gave away what was left over, and I actually had enough to build a whole third bike that i gave away, If i can get enough parts i intend to do something similar again. I'm Paul, My email is pmsisner@ncsu.edu or you can call me at 252-916-3516. BTW I'm thinking of starting a club that does this type of bike building for charity, but thats in early planning so I'll make a thread about that once I find out more, for one thing i have to make sure it hasn't been done, and also, doing this to build us some bikes will give me a idea of how much bike scrap is out there.
