I've only watched their three tourney games.

He is scoring in high numbers but is by no means winning anything by himself.

Yeah, their defense was awesome last night. I didn't expect them to be able to shut down wisconsin's inside game. They did what all coaches want their teams to do and stopped entry passes and filled passing lanes into the post.

5 tournament appearances in 20 years with no wins except this year

i love what davidson is doing, but the chances of them being able to put on a streak like this again against highly touted teams in March is close to 0%

I give the dude mad props for performing at such a high level this deep into the tournament. even though davidson's losses were to ncaa teams (minus nc state) i really think it helped them. I'd love it if davidson wins the national title leaving hansbrough out in the cold

So you're saying Davidson would have won that game without curry? Right........

Well curry is the difference between them being an elite 8 team and possibly not even a mid major conference champion. What else does he want from the guy? I agree that the comment he was responding to was stupid.

^I'm saying they're not in the tournament, or at least not in the second round without Curry. He certianly has some help in richards, but is Richards that good because of Curry? or is Curry that good because of Richards? All I know is that Curry gets the attention of EVERYONE on the other team...making it easier for everyone else to operate.

there is NO QUESTION that they would not be where they are w/o richards.

not to mention that nigerian guy who is killing it in the paint.

I'm on the Davidson bandwagon, although I doubt they can take Kansas.

I'm with Xavier and whoever's playing Carolina as well.

^Not with the point guard leading the country in assists and dropping 13 dimes last night.

This tournament is one with guard play, and their guards are killing it right now.

We could argue something like this back and forth. We can figure out who was right if they go back in time and play without him.

If you don't give their PG some credit, and the defense played by the team overall, you're obviously new to basketball.

^^ yeah but it's still probably not going to be terribly high, and he doesn't need the money.

i'd be willing to bet his parents will essentially force him to stay 4 years, if he even wants to leave early.

He's a late first rounder, early 2nd rounder right now.

Only way his draft stock improves over the next couple years is if he can bulk up a little bit more and get a little more athletic.

There is no chance he drops to the 2nd round. None. He's too good of a scorer.

He's a mid to late first-rounder right now. The NBA comparison (if he can bulk up a little) would be Monta Ellis, although he's a much better outside shooter.

^Monta Ellis is the fastest player in the NBA, has a nice stroke, and is taller than Curry. I think Monta Ellis is a better pro than Curry will be.

Curry couldnt even dream of finishing around the basket as well as Monta...

and Monta is a good 3 inches taller.

[Edited on March 29, 2008 at 5:13 PM. Reason : monta is 21 and already a 20 ppg scorer...]

3" taller? They're both listed as being 6'3" ...?

Of course Curry is listed at 185 lbs and you know that's bullshit.

richards is definitely a very good point guard for them. though you have to admit that having a guy that can pretty much catch and shoot from anywhere is a nice way to pad those assist numbers.

curry is just unreal.
