My woman invited me Saturday to go to dinner with her aunt/uncle for Easter Sunday, and I didn't really want to go, so I told her I'd let her know. She said, "No big deal, I'll call you tomorrow and see if you want to go."
I get a call at 8 PM Sunday night....she's crying and pissed that: A)I didn't call her B)Didn't say yes to going to dinner.

legitimate right for her to be mad. You could've called her instead of being a little bitch and avoiding the situation.
You're such a slacker, b

If you say you're gonna call, just fucking do it. If you go ahead and call, that removes at least one thing for her to bitch at you about. gives you the upper hand in a dispute like this

Thanks for clarifying that Chembob.
Also, I've met and been over to her aunt/uncle's place 3/6 times that I was invited.
She was supposed to call me because she was coming in from out of town and I didn't know when we'd leave to go over to said Aunt/Uncles.

And its just a dinner with her Aunt and Uncle...unless you've met them before and can't stand them, you just should have gone. Pick your battles man. 3/24/2008 10:49:06 AM |

He did say that he'd let her know. That's his problem. When you don't do things you say you will, you make life difficult for yourself and those around you. The earlier you learn this lesson as opposed to trying to be a bad ass like The Judge, the better off everyone will be.
^ You could've said, "you know, I really don't feel like it."

College games were basically over by then. Personally...I was watching NBA at the time, but not too many people out there still watch NBA games.
I'm just saying...if you ain't got shit else to do, might as well appease the woman and get a free meal out of it. Going to a Sunday Easter dinner with the significant other's relatives doesn't seem like a big deal if you're not giving up anything for it.3/24/2008 12:23:28 PM |

If that wasn't really a question she needs to just start talking straightforward to the guy about what she does and doesn't want to do.
That will never, in ten million years of evolution, ever happen though. Guess he gets to learn to play the game, lulz.
PS: Don't call her a bitch, women totally hate the shit out of that. 3/24/2008 12:24:44 PM |

That's my whole argument. I don't mind going all that much if it's important to her, but don't act like it isn't a big deal and then call crying the next day when I make a choice.

Yeah...I would have had a tough time giving that up too.
You should have at least called up to check on it. And if she said she wanted you there, tried to get out of it by saying that you were hungover and "not presentable" in your opinion for dinner with the family.
You messed up just a little...but it also seems that she overreacted (when do girls not overreact). Either way, hopefully she'll realize she overreacted and you'll realize your small mistake in the future.3/24/2008 1:48:53 PM |

this is simple... if this was the last thing said:
Quote : | "She said, "No big deal, I'll call you tomorrow and see if you want to go."" |
then it's her call to make, not yours. could you have called ahead of time? yes. but it isn't your job and you shouldn't be expected to if she said that she would call last.
jbrick nailed it

oh boys, have we not learned this "trick" yet? obviously you are supposed to call, even if she says she'll call you. also, when she says "no big deal" you're gonna go ahead and need to interpret that as "BIG DEAL." the only reason she even said, "no big deal, i'll call you..." is to see if you'd a) change your mind and give an answer right then or b) at least call HER tomorrow.
i know, it makes no sense. but i feel like we've been over these scenarios before. she means the opposite of what she says.
lets practice: she says: "its fine" what she means: "its NOT fine"
she says: "i'll call you later" what she means: "you better call first"
she says: "no, its ok i don't want you to pay for me" what she means: "how did i get stuck with this cheap bastard"
she says: "sure its ok, go hang out with the guys tonight" what she means: "you CAN go, but you'll pay for it later" 3/24/2008 1:59:00 PM |

I hate how chicks do that shit
I was dating this girl back in the day and we had plans to go out that evening
I called her once that afternoon and texted once to see what the deal was, I hear nothing from her, so I go out, I get a call at 10:30 or so and she's like, "wtf, you went out without me???"
I'm not gonna sit at home all night calling your ass, esp if I left a message and texted you 3/24/2008 3:03:43 PM |
