its some ongoing lawsuits, two things fucked me, otherwise i had great credit, one, rex hospital kept trying to charge me for an account that was paid by my insurance, they said it was taken care of and i had documentation from them showing a 0 balance, then 6 months later a collection agency posted it still due on my credit report, and bank of america keeps selling my student loans to a different contractor every other week, and they keep putting in in repayment status, because this is my 6th year of college for 2 degrees, and it shows missed payments

student legal services is slow and frustrating, but hell, i cant afford a few thousand for a real lawyer, so i can't really complain, but i need to buy a house later this year, so i gotta get it straightened out soon

the man is always tryin to keep me down, motorcycle loan, lowes card and visa card have always been paids on time for years

^^good luck with buying a house this year. if you had done it a year ago you prolly wouldn't have any trouble-- i'm sure you know banks are tightening up and are going to be nit picking a lot more than they have in recent years.

but i'm sure if you get that shit straight then it'll be easy enough since you'll have established credit then

^ plaaning on renting for about 6 months to find a place and save up, real estate is dirt cheap out there, so i should be able to put 15-20% down on it, and get it paid off in about 4-5 years, that'll save a shitload in interest

^^ make sure you check the fine print, a lot of loans like that screw you over to a really high interest rate if you start paying it back too fast, they want their damn money

You may be better off investing the money anyway, mortgage interest is tax deductible.

Yeah I wasn't gonna get into all that and start that debate up... but yea, you def need to do some research before you pay it off as fast as you can. The interest you could be making on your extra money if you don't put it towards your mortgage + the tax deduction of the internet you are paying could come out a lot better to pay it slower

not to mention the possible penalties if you pay it too fast

yeah ensure no prepayment penalties.

and yes, the market right now kinda sucks for getting a mortgage.

counce, tn

shit is rediculous cheap there, probably gonna get a ~1500 ft^2 house for around $50,000 for a few years, and either sell that, or rent it out to pay the mortgage and buy an assload of land and build a new house

[Edited on March 25, 2008 at 9:40 AM. Reason : $800 an acre is considered pricey there]
