i couldn't find the original thread, but i had kept a copy of it for old times sake

i have crest toothpaste, and it has white sections and blue... currently, only the blue will dispense, and the white stays in the tube. yesterday it was the opposite. please help

lesamuels
you're going to have to either wipe the whole thing clean and start over; or if it is an older version it might be time for an upgrade
have you checked the Crest website for a patch?

agentlion
i suggest switching to an open-source toothpaste such
as Colgate instead of using the propriety formula that's
in Crest. The monocolor Colgate may not have as nice of
a GUI as teh blue and white Crest, but you will never have
to deal with tube crashes or clean intalls again.

lesamuels
yeah..with toothpaste the GUI is not as important...open source is definitely the way to go

Mattakamoose
Come on, he doesn't have to convert...a simple reboot of the tube will take care of that problem.

Mattakamoose
Actually, I was mistaken. You need Crest Service Pack 1, which the following Knowledge Base article recommends:
http://support.crest.com/support/kb/articles/q270/7/15.asp
Head to Toothpaste Update, but make sure your tube is a legal tube.

Clevelander
you know there is a way around that....I'm pretty sure http://www.tweakcrest.com has something that works

AVON
Switch to Colgate, Crest just copied them anyway....

psnarula
Is your tube legit? Or did you get it off Aazaah? I've heard that the Business Toothpaste Alliance sent an internal memo last month noting that illegal copies would soon begin to show signs of corruption...

SeaCabEan
I would scan my tube for viruses.

30thAnnZ
yeah, run a scan first, your tube may have an infection.

ApostleNC
Sometimes a good restart will help take care of problems.

pr0fess0r
Often, if you just hit the tube briskly with a hammer, you can get the results you need.

Socks``
Wake me up before you go go

yuri82
i got a phat new 2x/8x/3x tube burner, i'll let u borrow it if u need to

Clevelander
oh yeah this problem is simple....you are just running out of hard paste space

Prospero
sometimes it just needs a defrag to reorganize the paste after some n00b squeezes it from the middle instead of the end

brainysmurf
my USB toothbrush isnt compatible with this version of toothpaste
what should i do?

Mr. Hand
I'm having the same problem. I can see the tube, heck I can see it still has toothpaste available. But, no matter what I do the toothbrush will just not accept it. Do I just need to go out and buy a whole new tube and toothbrush and start again. What is out there that will still be compatable with my drinking glass from '98?

EvMan
your brush might have the new bristle virus which causes massive failure and erase several important paste.dll files. Use your Listerine Application and Scope to clean the application the the Polident Repair program to restore your system integrity.

kiljadn

I've got a SCSI toothbrush that I'll sell you for $5.
On another note, can anyone tell me why my Floss 4.0 keeps locking up? I installed the new wintergreen flavor wax add-on yesterday and now I can only dig out about 2 kernels or so before complete and total lockup.

Opstand
Make sure your current tube is BlueTooth compatible with your toothbrush. You may need to update your floride drivers in order to dual dispense like that. If that doesn't work, try reformating your tube and making the two partitions you have now into one.
If I were you, I would get one of these techy guys on here to custom build you a new tube. Sounds like your's is a little old and you could probably use an upgrade.

agentlion
or consider switching to Aquafresh. It has a beautiful red, white, and blue GUI, but is based on the rock-solid Colgate open-source formula. Aquafresh is the paste of choice among graphics designers and educators due to its ease of use and smooth-looking interface.

randomrdhd
nomination for best thread ever.

KillaB
Can anyone recommend a good cavity firewall? I've had some plaque attempting to hack my teeth this week.

State409c
yesterday was just a hint of the catastrophic failure you have just encountered. You have been hit with the BSOD (Blue Squeeze of Death). You can try sticking the cap back on and taking it off and trying again but most likely you are gonna have to send it back for a warranty repair or replacement.

LadyWolff
I would suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers for the toothbrush port.

zorthage
If the brush needs to be replaced, be sure to get a ToothBrush v.2 That has twice the brissel capacity to allow later upgrades if needed. Toothbrushes seem to become obsolete so quickly nowadays.

EvMan
[BLUE PASTE OF DEATH]
Your paste has suffered a fatal error and cannot be recovered. It is advised that you rinse and re-load your brush. If the error continues you should contact your tube manufacturer or purchase a new brush. Replacing the bristles or upgrading to a reach model is also suggested.
Dumping physical paste to drain....10....9...8...7........

i recommend ACT flouride rinse as a good cavity firewall.
it blocks the ip addresses of all the nasty cavity germs
It comes in two versions: Cinammon and Mint

jackleg
i called tech support. after 4 hours on the line, we got my toothpaste coming out again. thanks for all the suggestions!

Kris
I had the same problem jack, crest's tech support just put me on hold for 2 hours and then wouldn't help me because i couldn't find my serial number. I swear next time i will just H4X0R myself a tube!

pureetofu
Somehow they transfered me to AquaFresh, and then all hell broke loose when they installed red inbetween the white and blue. Was like a toothpaste war occuring inside the tube!

EvMan
lately i've been getting into tube modding...putting windows on the side of my tube and monitoring how much is left. I also added a light and enlarged the hole for better flow.

pureetofu
Dude I strapped a pelter to mine, so I always have that ICE COLD feeling, I've gotten that baby to run as cool as 10C before! Bitch on the sparkles inside though, they get dimmer the colder the tube gets.

rogueleader
anyone tried overclocking the latest tubes from colgate? the CVITY stepping looks really nice but I don't think I want to shell out that kinda dough right now.

Foxworks
oc'ing these fluoride toothpastes these days is much safer than in the old days, but it can be hell on the enamel interface. I suggest that you invest in a packet of high performance wooden toothpicks to avoid any heat transfer problems that could roast your bristles right off the brush. also, some brush platforms do not like overclocking that much, like the generic brand that you can get from the c-store. mine started melting with barely 2 hours of run time.

pureetofu
Becareful when overclocking and suing the Collegate SpinBrush. It will cause a meltdown of the rotary head when it rejects the tampered with Crest toothpaste.

Bird
Just MOD the factory heatsink. That will solve the problem...

pureetofu
^ WHOA!! Talk about taking this joke to a WHOLE new level.... ^

SeaCabEan
i'm getting an IO exception when i use my brush with the paste and I can't seem to fix it. Tech support is down too. Please help.

timswar
do what i do, throw it out the window and buy a new brush

richthofen
I bought my brush less than two months ago and it's already obsolete! Have any of you ever tried replacing the bristles? I'm also interested in some handle mods.

pureetofu
Talk with a vet schol dork, see if they can give you some horse hair to make some home-brew bristles.

yuri82
the combination of high technology with living cells havent gotten that good yet

Bird
Try the new Crest Complete Model 1337. Completely portable, with all the I/O you need

Prospero
does the new Crest Complete come with Crest Cavity Protection Suite 2002 or Crest Tartar Protection Suite?... and is it only single action whitening or dual action whitening? i have been waiting for the dual action whitening for awhile so i can do more multi-tasking...

yuri82
all i'm looking for is scalability
i mean, can you imagine a beowulf cluster of crest ?

Bird
No, but I can imagine a Colgate Cavity Buster Cluster.
Here is one that Colgate University created.

yuri82
wow, what a nice rack.
I wonder how many cavityflops of power it has...

jackleg
i wish they had academy awards for the internet"

This dates back to 2002... not sure if anyone can dig up any of the photoshops anywhere, possibly in any of the users' galleries?
