because he was talking to his mom

he was telling her to sign some...check or something for him, instead of her sending it up here, him having to take the time to sign it, pay 41 cents to send it, and the additional time to take it to the bank/post office.

he was also bitching about how he had lost a great deal of respect for some chick because of what she did and how he was going to sit her down about it
