Go buy some clippers. You can get a set for $15 and then you won't have to pay for a haircut for quite some time. It's a long term win.

ok its been a while and my hair is longer...should i use scissors to cut it shorter first then try to shave?

I don't know about cheap clippers. I bought a nice pair (~$70) knowing that I was going to use them for a long time, where I would notice the savings.

It's been about three years and they still cut through my hair like butter. It cuts fast, too, with no need to move them slowly as it cuts as to prevent pulling.

I have a $25 Wahl clipper set from Target that I've had for years. It works just fine. Granted, I haven't used them in years, but I never had any problem with them.

I'd recommend at least a $30-$40 set from a reputable retailer, like a barber shop. Often the crap in wally world or Walgreen's just does not get the job done.

I would also recommend cutting on a 1 or mod1 setting before shaving bald - it gives you a feel for how the real deal might look.

don't go to the people in cameron village-- they somehow managed to fuck up a simple male haircut & charged $texas to do so (a few months ago...)

Just go with some clippers... it's easy & cheap.
