Just got a random ass text message from my mom saying she saw a ball of fire in the sky and it was scaring her. I sent her one back but she never replied. Is there anyone near Mooresville that can confirm/deny this?

you should probably just post a pic, most wolfwebbers wouldn't know what the sun is if they landed on it

I have no idea what it is. I'm not gonna lie and say my mom is the sanest person on the planet, but I don't think she would be getting freaked out bad enough to text me about it on a normal occasion.

Ok guys, my mom is smart enough to differentiate the sun from something that she doesn't usually see. Good try though...

*sigh*

Soooo... this was my mom's lame attempt at a joke. She got all sad because it was cloudy and she got off work and the sun was starting to come out. I thought she was serious cuz she's never done something like this before but I will forever from this point treat her like a small child.

Original message: "Therz a strange ball of fire n the sky & its scaring me "

I think the unsmiley threw me off but like I said she's never just sent me some random shit like this before so I didn't know. She sent me one about 5 minutes ago and said the news said it was a star in our own solar system and all I could think about was, "Way to go mom. Way to make both of us look like idiots on the internet." But yeah, the mystery is solved.

Also, my mom is not a LOLCat. I think she's just trying too hard to be text-cool.

I just didn't want anyone to get worried and kill themselves because they thought the aliens were attacking.

was it this?

Quote :
"Club patrons were astonished at what took place at Larry Flynt's Hustler Club early Friday morning, a dancer caught fire around 4am. The dancer who used fire in her routine accidentally burned her face, and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. KSLA News 12 is told from witnesses that the incident happened very fast. In a matter of seconds they say the dancer's head was engulfed in flames, that's when guest services ran up on stage and covered the dancer to put out the flames. The activity in the club paused as she was being treated by paramedics. She was then rushed to the hospital where she is recovering from first degree burns to her face. Club management refuses to comment on the matter, and did not return several phone calls placed to Larry Flynt's Hustler Club. We are told however, employees there are concerned for the dancer and say that she's a "great girl". "

i'm so glad my mom doesn't know what a text message is.

my mom is the least technologically savvy person on the planet. I had to take her to walgreen's photocenter and teach her how to use her digital camera's memcard to upload and get photos developed b/c "she was scared"

So your mom is scared of her camera's memory card and my mom is scared of the sun... These two should get together.

my mom is ok with email. we've got her set up with a basic @windstream.net account. It still takes her forever to navigate. She's has a dog's shortterm memory and it takes her forever to remember what to do.

she has an AIM screenname she used their old computer i used to come home from class with messages like "you better be at school" and "i emailed you did you get it?" and shit like that. I'm glad they got a new computer cause she forgot about it.

My mother couldn't send an email to save her life. On the other hand, my father is a Level III youporn master.

My mom kept reinstalling aim whenever one of the kids would use it, bc her name didn't automatically come up in the box.

We always "broke it"

A drop down menu still alludes her sometimes.

^my mother used to do the same thing. She was more of an overall stupid bitch than most people's mothers so she'd get violently angry when something like that would happen and vehemently deny it could have anything to do with it being her fault. In addition it wasn't until I moved out for the first time that I realized how much she could dramatically fuck up a computer with her daily uses of it while, as I said, violently insisting it was everyone else's fault

If my mom were scared of her immanent demise (and she wasn't in a bank robbery situation where she couldn't call), I'd expect more than a text.
