The search feature isn't working...so i'm sorry if this question has been asked before (and I'm sure it has)

I'm looking to get my mountain bike tuned up for the spring/summer. It needs a basic tuneup (deraileur adjustments, lubrication of chain/bearings, a good cleanup, etc) because I did some single track riding last year that was really rough on the bike. I don't have the tools or time to tune it up myself so I want to get it done quickly and as cheap as possible.

I called REI and they want $75 for a basic tuneup (fuck that) so they're out of the question. I heard from some people that Flythe Cycling on Peace St is a good option. Any other recommendations? I'm looking to keep it under $50.

Thanks

I know the bike tech's up at REI crossroads, and they know what they are doing, and if it is just basic stuff, they will usually hook it up for ya

The Bicycle Chain is pretty good from my experience. I didn't have a tuneup because mine was new, but I think they said they were $30, and the guys there were nice and seemed to know their shit (although I don't so they could have just made stuff up and I would have believed them). There are a few locations I think.

I took it to Cycle Logic on Hillsborough...it's only $30 for a basic tune-up so it's not that bad. Flythe Cycling wanted $59.

Cycle logic is fine and cheap. If you need any parts they have some used ones with big discounts. Not the most friendly people and the place is ghetto/dirty/etc.

All-Star bike shop (faircloth-ish and wade) has really cool guys working but they will likely be slightly more expensive. Theyre better at what they do but I think logic is fine as well.

from what i remember a roommate saying, i think the tuneups at REI are cheaper if you're a member. can't remember what the membership costs though.
