not a chance. ^wont work either.
You are completely liable for your bids, that same way you are on ebay. Unless they cannot deliver the tickets as promised, you are going to be paying for them. 4/13/2008 4:11:57 AM |

i am interested in trying this. what did you bid and how ridiculous were your flight plans? 4/13/2008 3:47:25 PM |

it works well if your times are flexible. i've flown for some ridiculously cheap rates before (like Seattle to Raleigh for $165 (including fees and everything) during the Christmas travel season. 4/13/2008 4:54:28 PM |

do NOT use it for hotels
they book you in the nastiest dump imaginable, even if you choose "3 stars and up" 4/13/2008 5:47:43 PM |

Well they do have to take the cheapest hotel offer. And the prices are unbeatable if it's a non busy day.
I've used it multiple times for hotels and they were normally just as expected. One time they were doing renovations, but it wasn't a big deal. I can normally get 20-40% off. 4/13/2008 8:13:28 PM |

car rentals are the only thing they are great for, but hotels are ok depending on the city.
we got a 35/day convertible in the keys for 4 days on it - that was like 55-60% off 4/13/2008 9:37:05 PM |

Only if you manage to talk with customer service less than about 20 minutes after they accept the bid, before it actually goes through. They still charge you about 10 dollars though.
After that, good luck, the tickets they sell are non transferrable, non-refundable, and the only way to change them is to get with the airline and pay some enormous fee.
You might try talking to the rental agency and see what their policy is, but priceline won't do squat for you after they take your money.

you generally have to bid within 30% to get it accepted
you can sometimes get 40% if its not a major destination
what are you bidding, like 20 dollars? 4/14/2008 12:22:27 PM |

even if they reject it their counteroffers are usually quite reasonable 4/14/2008 12:47:45 PM |
