I dunno if I buy the 'hemp is better' argument. If you're in the US all hemp has to be shipped from abroad - not very environmentally friendly. It would be better to wear a cotton shirt that was grown & sewn in the USA

it's getting harder and harder to explain to american farmers why they can buy some hemp jeans at the mall,

organic unbleached cotton is the way to go, or hemp-cotton blends (very nice)

although, admitidly, most of my clothing is cotton, and not unbleached or organic, but it is second-hand

I refuse to buy new clothes unless they are one or more of: organic, unbleached, hemp, naturally dyed, etc.
