Weight isn't really an issue, my wife and I were able to easily place the tv on the sony stand. And I have it on "furniture sliders" so I can easily move it from room to room if I need to.

trust me the weight isn't an issue, i'm able to slide it on the stand w/o any issues. I think the furniture sliders are made to slide on either hardwoods or carpet.
