I've eaten many a Valume before with little or no real affect.... Just mellowed me out a bit-
However the one I ate last night (drunk at 4am) put me out for the count 14 hours and I woke up just a little bit ago..... I'm still groggy and a bit wobbly-
Anyone know what the difference in the pill may have been? I wasn't aware that there were multiple mg sizes in valume.... 4/16/2008 7:06:06 PM |

VALIUM
And if you take any thing like this with alcohol in our system it will kick your ass.
I once took a percocet after drinking about 6 beers and literally had to crawl to by bedroom and couldnt even make it up into my bed. I slept on the floor next to it for a good 12+ hours.

okay you definitely should not be eating valium if you were UNAWARE that the dosage even varied
and you're mixing it with alcohol

I believe the difference with the pill had to do with whether or not you had already set a carbomb off next to your liver.4/16/2008 7:37:21 PM |

Percocet plus beer will kick your ass to high heavens the first few times, but after taking it regularly for job-induced back pain I learned to be able to drink *a bit* with a perc or two in me.
Not recommend for amateurs!!! 4/16/2008 8:46:46 PM |

I hate percocet -- it induces panic attacks. And I cannot take vicodin because it breaks me out in a horrible rash. I had a hell of a time with kidney stones because there really weren't any pain killers that I could take. 4/16/2008 10:47:52 PM |

Yeah, I worked my way to Darvocet. I guess the next time I have trouble we'll continue working our way through the list. The only thing that relieved my pain was toradol injections, an anti-inflamatory. 4/16/2008 10:53:43 PM |

actually, percocet and vicodin are medium-weights as far as painkillers go. Weak would be darvocet, which was proven to be no more effective than tylenol. Then again, certain people response better to certain drug.4/16/2008 11:00:22 PM |

The only really effective painkiller that I have ever had was duramorph given through my spinal cath after my c-section.
I have decided that I just have an unusual body chemistry because I have unusual reactions to a number of drugs. 4/16/2008 11:03:11 PM |

Valium targets the GABA receptors in the brain and inhibits the reuptake of serotonin. Valium is classified as a benzodiazepine, which puts it in the same general family of drugs as antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications.
...and everybody knows that if you're taking antidepressants you get drunk a whole lot faster. If you didn't know, you're a retard, and we forgive you. 4/16/2008 11:20:11 PM |

only halfways correct, but you've got the general idea.
antidepressants are not benzos. yes, they both may inhibit catecholamine reuptake, but the mechanisms behind some antidepressants are varied and (somewhat) unknown. there are also many different classes of antidepressants, some of which are in no way even close to resembling a benzo.4/16/2008 11:23:45 PM |

AlexRebbel, you did a horrible job of simplifying it.
Simplified version:
Valium = benzo = typically prescribed for anxiety = get drunk faster, among other things...
All that shit you said about anti-depressants was total nonsense. Some anti-depressants actually inhibit your ability to get drunk.
(I did a quick search. Anti-depressants have been shown to increase the effects of alcohol. And I couldn't find anywhere that said they decrease the effects so I guess I'm the only one who experienced that. Blah, I'm always wrong.)
