Pre-sale for a general admission concert to see a band that had to give away tickets to their last show in the Triangle?

That's... odd. Or, am I wrong and it's not GA?

I might have to fly up.... go see State play Duke, then check out the Crowes... fly back down here that Sunday and see the Crowes again at Jackie Gleason/Fillmore on Miami Beach on Nov 12!... kick-ass!

^ I really don't mean this to come across snotty, but is there anything that you do like? I mean, seriously man, every single thread that I see you in you are talking about something being shitty or bad or you hate it or whatever. I just don't get that. Why be in the thread if you hate it?

^ Honestly, he didn't say anything that wasn't true.

Lincoln Theatre just under performs. Personally, I think it's a venue with a lot of potential, but whoever does the booking for that place abso-fucking-lutely sucks.

Tell me 5 shows you deem as "good acts" being at Lincoln this year. Just 5.

I've been there twice this year, and I can remember about 2 shows I wanted to attend. A venue of that size and in that location should be doing much better.

yeah, I am not arguing the relative merits of the Black Crowes or the Lincoln Theatre. I am just curious why someone would take their time to come into a thread that is discussing something they clearly don't like just to tell everyone, "hey, I don't like this". That just seems like an amazingly negative waste of time. Was just curious to be honest.

oh my, heres something to think about, maybe we like different styles of music , i think they do great because i love the style of music they bring in (mostly jamband/bluegrass). so yes i can name 5, or 10 or probably 20 shows that I thought were good, but you wouldnt. certainly doesnt mean lincoln sucks, just means you dont like the bands they bring in. some of us do. the only problem i have with lincoln is the sound is supbar up front and apparently the sound on stage sucks too

So... you want them to book some shit band like Panic! at the Disco... or or some faggy-ass emo band with little talent?

Lincoln does a great job bringing in bands that people in Raleigh like to see and have brought in some decent names.

http://www.alltimelow.com/

I don't think I've seen another site intro that encompasses the description of "faggy-ass emo" as that one

and they're definitely booked at Lincoln for July 10th

and so in this case...yeah I'd probably rather see a Panic! at the Disco than this shit

Black Crowes used to be really good and had an awesome live show. I saw them twice back in the day. Now they are a shitty, shitty band. I will never go see them again.

I'd like to see what Monotonix could do in a room like Lincoln Theatre.

But if Monotonix played within an hour drive of Raleigh every night, I'd see them every night.

So yeah.

I thought it was a great show too.

i had never seen them before, so if people are saying that was shitty, then i guess previous shows had fluffers for the crowd?

the prolem was that they used to play their hits years ago and blend in a few lesser known songs. as of the past couple years, they played almost all b-sides and c-sides, and barely interspersed any of their singles.

which version of the black crowes showed up last night?

most of the true Crowes fans who go to their shows go to hear rarities.

you can sit at home and listen to Hard To Handle or Remedy on your Bose Wave Radio

but I'd rather see them live and hear deep cuts and covers

however, it was kinda cool to hear Talks to Angels last night. hadn't heard that in person yet

pretty solid set. i don't think they played any b-sides, but poor elijah was the only cover i recognized.
