yeah, this is a shitty record:

2002 Ohio State 14-0 8-0 T-1st W Fiesta
2003 Ohio State 11-2 6-2 2nd W Fiesta
2004 Ohio State 8-4 4-4 5th W Alamo
2005 Ohio State 10-2 7-1 T-1st W Fiesta
2006 Ohio State 12-1 8-0 1st L BCS National Championship
2007 Ohio State 11-2 7-1 1st L BCS National Championship

Over the last 6 years, no one has won more games.

they weren't even supposed to be that good last year to make it to the BCS Title game. Everyone agreed it was really a re-building year for the team.

This year, different story. Please be ready for an absurd level of Linebacker play and great WR/RB play.

WOOOOOO, GO BUCKEYES!!

I was thinking about making this thread the other day, but decided to wait til closer to the season, guess its never too early to talk about the Buckeyes

I predict that the winners of the OSU/USC and Florida/Georgia games will play in the national championship this year.

And I predict that will be OSU vs. Georgia

and I think that the Ohio State will bring the championship home to Columbus this season

also, Chris "Beanie" Wells will win the Heisman...just thinking about how good the Buckeyes are going to be this year makes me happy

they're too slow as always. Their only hope is that a big 12 or ACC team gets into the BCS title against them.

I love how everyone says OSU chokes despite a winning BCS game record, and damn near every school would LOVE to make it to 2 straight NC games, regardless of the outcome.

I guess you look back at those days as "the glory days" now, huh

juuuuust playin, I know ya'll will be back in a year or two....hell maybe even this year if RichRod is as great of a coach as he's made out to be

they are saying (and i agree) michigan already has enough talent, which they do, to be good quick... IF, and only IF, richrod is the real deal with his coaching

so if it is ugly this year... i would never count on it to be a championship force, even after experience and specific recruiting

Ohio State and maybe Illinois/Wisconsin/Penn State will be good

is the Big Ten as good as the SEC? no

but for the purposes of this thread and the Ohio State fans everywhere, it doesnt really matter as long as OSU rolls through the conference again.

There's not much you can do about it when multiple teams in your conference are having bad years, you just have to play your schedule and beat everyone along the way. That, and having a few good OOC games thrown in should help

here's their schedule this year - flame away, I know you will

Sat, Aug 30 Youngstown State Columbus, Ohio
Sat, Sep 06 Ohio Columbus, Ohio
Sat, Sep 13 USC at Los Angeles, Calif.
Sat, Sep 20 Troy University Columbus, Ohio
Sat, Sep 27 Minnesota Columbus, Ohio
Sat, Oct 04 Wisconsin at Madison, Wis.
Sat, Oct 11 Purdue Columbus, Ohio
Sat, Oct 18 Michigan State at East Lansing, Mich.
Sat, Oct 25 Penn State Columbus, Ohio
Sat, Nov 08 Northwestern at Evanston, Ill.
Sat, Nov 15 Illinois at Champaign, Ill.
Sat, Nov 22 Michigan Columbus, Ohio

they'll probably lose to troy, too.

no, they easily could... they could lose to USC but then near the end of the year when other teams lose people will forget about that and they will sneak in again.

Tressell needs to quit trying to be tough and go back to his marshmellow soft OOC schedule. USC in L.A., looks like another clinic on speed will be held at the LA Coliseum on Sept. 13th. Nice job by Tressell to get this game in September though, might not hurt his BCS hopes.

OSU has OOC games scheduled against USC, Miami, Oklahoma, Tennessee (attn: Jaybee), VT, and Cal.

Also, I'm likely going to the OSU-Michigan game this year. The Horseshoe is my mecca.

You can't have it both ways. Bitching because they play a soft ooc, which they really don't in recent history with the exception of last year (Washington was a top 25 team when they were scheduled), and then saying they should play a soft one. Tressell is such a diabolical genius scheduling an OOC game in September when EVERY OTHER TEAM IN THE COUNTRY IS PLAYING THEM.

it's how they got there that's lame, it doesn't help that your conference is now thought of as being almost ACC level last season (they did match ups top to bottom and it came out like the bball challenge did)

now if they won 3-4 games against really good teams then made it, it would have more legitimacy i would think...

^^OSU will win both games, USC has too many question marks right now (and yes, I know they are USC and "reload" at every position, but they lost a LOT of key players last season) while OSU has pretty much the same team as last season. I know its in Cali, but I personally think the talent/experience gap is too great this year for home field to play a factor in the outcome

Next year might be a different story since the roles will likely be reversed and OSU will have a lot of question marks while USC will be bringing back a lot of talent...but next year will be in the Horseshoe so that might level things out a little

How is it bandwagon when I was raised an OSU fan? Sure I went to NC State, but I honestly never cared too much about them since my allegiance is with OSU. There's no concrete rule that says you have to attend a school to be a fan. So, sure I didn't go there, but I'm by no means a fair weather or bandwagon fan.

^don't worry man... even though there IS a fine line with it... but these southerners don't understand that type of football up there and how its more than just a game and how it doesn't even matter that the big televen isnt the best conference

unc basketball is just a game and they have the best team with a flashy powder blue color that certain "people" get attracted to and become bandwagon fans

I wouldnt pull for OSU over NCSU, but that doesnt mean that I'm not a fan of Ohio State

this dumbass argument comes up every single season where a few people claim that you cannot like any other school besides the one that you attended, no matter how strong your family ties are to the university.

If I was a Hawaii fan because I like their school colors, but have no other ties to the university, and I only started liking them when Colt Brennan became quarterback, then that would make me a bandwagon fan

I've never been a sports bigamist. My ties/allegiance have always been to OSU, even when I went to NCSU. I like NCSU, and I'll pull for them over whomever they're playing (except when the 2 teams played), but I dont actively follow their recruiting more than other schools, I don't have NC State memorabilia adorning my house like I do with OSU.

Feel free to hate on the team, much like I hate Michigan with every ounce of my being, but don't hate on why I'm a fan, b/c that's fucking retarded.

My fanhood needs no questioning.

Back to the football, linebacker Curtis Terry will likely see time at fullback, simply to overpower the other team.

As far as atmosphere, talent, and tradition go...Ohio State is like an SEC team in the Big 10...too bad the only team that they play is the SEC team that beats them in the bowl game every year.
