I've got a friend with a ~96 Acura Integra, 5sp. When she starts it up, she says there is like a high pitched whine for a while, i guess until it warms up. I thought it could be a belt, but I checked her belts and they are all new. (She just had her timing belt replaced, so they did the rest).
What else could it be? 4/22/2008 10:12:07 PM |

listen around to see what part of the car its coming from.
if its the rear it could be the fuel pump.
from the front could be many things. a whine = infinite things.
when you say belts, does it sound like belt whine? they could be new but loose. gotta make sure theyre tensioned correctly.

^ she says its def from under the hood, ill try to listen to it again.
The tension looks good, and it seems like even on a half-way warm start the belts would whine.. just cuz they would cool quicker than the rest of the engine 4/22/2008 10:55:07 PM |
