I couldn't see myself actually living in Greensboro. I'd like to move to Sadelia which is a little hi & bye nook between G-boro and Burlington. Alas, the girlfriend likes Raleigh too much. 5/7/2008 6:18:26 AM |

Coopers is pretty good.
Speakeasy Tavern is pretty much my Cheer's around here. You know, "everybody knows my name" because I go there a lot. They don't have a ton of TVs, but it usually isn't very crowded for games and they will put on whatever game you want. Plus they have a little landing upstairs with a big screen and leather couches that we usually reserve for NCSU Football games. It's free.
We usually go to Ham's on Battleground or Ham's on the Lake out near Page HS for NFL games. Or there's always Hooters 8/12/2008 8:50:43 AM |

The new 2008 Greensboro population estimate is 258,671 Area of City 131.35 square miles, or 84,063.64 acres
quarter of a million people is not small
also
The population of Raleigh is approximately 341,530 (2005). The amount of land area in Raleigh is 114.6 sq. miles.
it's barely smaller than raleigh

well let me clarify (also i wasn't using raleigh as a reference, although i do prefer living in downtown raleigh to downtown greensboro):
i meant small as in quaint. as in its like suburbia city (i thought that was clarified with my "i don't like suburbia" comment)
i guess i should say i like dense cities on grids. and bigger downtowns. and taller buildings.
anyway...ham's are kind of meh to me. i guess they are ok but usually when i picture an ideal sports bar, i don't picture a chain. hooters is a definite no. i've been to speakeasy, it was fun. i've never watched a game there but i kinda liked it so maybe i'll try that. 8/12/2008 7:43:03 PM |

the place next to the green bean, whatever it's called, seems like they probably show games, and I'm sure upstairs at natty green's and mccoul's both do
update: i just saw you were asking about state games. dunno.
speaking of the green bean, every thursday @ 7 my friend hosts drinking liberally (http://www.drinkingliberally.org), and it's half price bottled beer night

Not that it really matters, but the owner of Ham's is a State grad. The one at Brassfield is getting new t.v.s in like two weeks and the manager is a big State fan. (I used to work there, hence my useless knowledge) 8/16/2008 9:31:40 PM |

I like the morning local news weather people in GSO who get their info from the airport and then try and dispute the data they got from there (me). I guess they missed their microscale meteorology class in their weatherman school. 8/22/2008 8:38:36 PM |

I watch NC14 in the morning cause I have the tv on for a total of 10 minutes so I traffic, weather, and a few seconds of sports. I dont really need all the other news, I can check that on CNN or something once I get to work.
At night I watch NBC but thats mostly cause I like NBC Nightly News, dont want to have to flip channels. 8/25/2008 2:50:57 PM |

i actually really like their ranch for some reason. guess it's just because when i worked at Brassfield Cinema in high school we used to go up there every night after we closed (which was like 1AM) and get chips and ranch. guess it is just kind of nostalgic. 9/10 we would be served beer without being carded too. 8/26/2008 8:08:08 AM |
