Our front runners have apparently accepted wrestling stage names in a desperate attempt to squeeze every vote they can out of America. A new low? I think so.

Clinton and Barack Obama took part in a verbal smackdown on the popular WWE primetime show.
"I've got one question; can you smell what Barack is cooking?" Obama said. " |

yeah, the most powerful person on the planet is not selected by any sort of scholarly, careful screening process. it's in the same vein as any other "reality TV" contest. 4/23/2008 3:34:05 PM |

And I saw McCain on the daily show, but didn't see a mention in the article. he said something, but maybe he didn't appear on the wrestling show or something. I don't know, but those 2 got the most attention somehow.4/23/2008 3:43:18 PM |

i understand what you're saying and agree to a point, but the process doesn't really reward critical decision making or nuanced views, and only partially rewards leadership and executive ability.
way too much of it boils down to who is the most marketable--to people who largely don't have a clue--through 15-second quotes and quips. 4/23/2008 3:53:41 PM |

I'll bet Pennsylvania would be a lot less retarded if Obama had won last night, amirite?
and I guess it was the wrestling event where they got the sound clip I've heard that says "Do you smell what Barack is cooking"?
also one time i remember Ravishing Rick Rude addressing a crowd in Pennsylvania as "Pennsylvania Pissants"] 4/23/2008 4:08:32 PM |

are we talking about certain demographics?
because certainly you weren't trying to be racist. in fact, let's assume 92% of one -certain- segment were to be polled. who would they vote for? i think we know that answer.
so we can safely assume from that: high crime, poverty, excessive drop out rates relate to who you will vote for.
talk about diversity these days.4/23/2008 4:35:50 PM |

You just can't beat Hilrod. "what Barack is cooking" is totally lame. She's going to win the election because of that. 4/23/2008 5:36:55 PM |
