i've seen bits and pieces from the dvd and got the cd today at best buy
if you are a fan of Yes and don't own this, go out and buy it
by far one of the finest performances i've ever heard 4/23/2008 3:35:34 PM |

Steve Howe's guitar work throughout is stellar Alan White is every bit as good of a drummer as Bruford is Chris Squire is an amazing bassist period and Rick Wakeman is Rick fucking Wakeman and Anderson uses his voice as an instrument itself
sure the album is long winded but each of these musicians come together and do some amazing stuff, you've only to listen out for it 4/23/2008 3:52:01 PM |

My dad is a huge Yes fan and has just about everything they have ever put out. (Has all the albums up to 90125 on vinyl, then rebought them all when they came out on CD.) I didn't care too much for this one. I liked the 35th Anniversary tour and Symphonic DVDs better.
As for Topographic Oceans, there are pieces of every song that are pretty good, but on the whole the album is a piece of crap. Definitely have to be in the right mood to listen to even one song off of it. 4/23/2008 3:53:31 PM |

admittedly there are better yes albums out there than tales
my 3 favorite always have been and always will be the yes album close to the edge and fragile
but i still don't dismiss tales as horrible 4/23/2008 3:56:48 PM |
