Mirabilis is one of the most interesting because it has multi colored flowers borne on the same plant

its called 4 o clock , when u said most interesting thats the first that came to mind so take it for what it is worth

Acanthus is also an interesting one, can have a 6 foot tall flowering spike and has a deep rooted history in Roman architecture

are excellent foliage plants with insignificant flowers
