Ive had an xbox for about 4 years or so and it has never had any problems, but one day I went to push the power button and nothing happened. I have no idea why it doesnt work, Ive never punched/dropped/spilled a drink on it.

I have a feeling that there is something easily fixable that I dont want to pay money to have fixed. It would actually be cheaper just to buy another xbox than have it repaired...

Also isnt there a way to open the disc tray without power? My halo 2 CD is stuck in there, so if I cant fix it I want to atleast get that out.

is the power converter plug tripped? i'm assuming you got one of those gigantor power cables they sent out. if you have one, check the switch.

^I think you're thinking of the 360. The original xboxes didn't have giant power cables.

My advice to the OP:

To get your disc back you could take it apart, pull out the dvd drive, and hook it into the power of your computer. That should allow you to be able to eject the drive.

actually they did send out new power chords(if you requested) that did have a ciruit breaker. Remember some of the chords were catching on fire.

Yea I got the new cords they sent but it still didnt work with a new power cord.

Im just going to punch the xbox repeatedly while pushing the power button, that should work.
